About artwork: The technique of oil painting in which Suhov works determines the specifics of his canvases, on which the pictorial mass becomes the basis for three-dimensional lines. The Art Newspaper Russia called them “metaphysical tangles that take the viewer into the otherworldly worlds of extraterrestrial existence”. “These lines have haunted me since childhood and partly repeat the outlines of the Irtysh River, on the banks of which I grew up. In my school years, in moments of thought, I painted all my notebooks with them. When lines appear on the canvas, the work has character, it becomes unique, begins to live its own life.”
