The Rereading of Alexander Pushkin Golden Fish , 2024 Marina STUPNIKOVA
Mixed techniques, acrylic, 120x100cm
About a work
It is no secret that Alexander Pushkin borrowed the plot of “The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish” from the Brothers Grimm. Their tale was called “The Fisherman and His Wife” and its action took place in German Pomerania, on the shores of the Baltic Sea. Pushkin’s fairytale turned out to be very Russian,. In my interpretation of Pushkin’s fairytale, the sea is warm and blue, with cypresses and flowering bushes on its shore.
