Marina Stupnikova

Having graduated from the Maurice Thorez Institute of Foreign Languages. Marina worked as a translator in various European countries. After that she moved to Laos, spending several years with her husband, a diplomat. She traveled extensively in Southeast Asia. Returning to Europe, Marina lived in the UK. There she attended one-year design courses, sponsored by the House Beautiful magazine in London. Returning to Russia, she received additional education in design at the Moscow Architectural Institute.
Currently Marina works and resided in Moscow. Her works have been bought for various private collections in Europe, Africa, Asia, Russia. There is always a lot of color in my works, bright and open. Color is always an emotion. And if we are talking about in which kind of interior my works do «fit in» best, then, for example, my paintings look organically in laconic Scandinavian interiors, or ascetic atmosphere of men’s offices or workrooms. They give the necessary accent color — and a feeling of lightness and freedom. I am sure that it is the appearance of bright informal paintings in them that livens up such interiors, creating for them an individual mood.
