Artist Andrey Shatilov was born in the USSR but developed as an artist in Russia. He is now 37 years old and has completed numerous painting projects that have gained significant recognition and popularity online. Many of these works are dedicated to Moscow and life in the capital, where the artist has lived and worked for the past seven years, after moving from Volgograd, where he spent his student years.
After graduating from the Institute of Art Education in 2012 as a book graphic artist and illustrator, Andrey chose the path of a freelance artist. By that time, he had already completed several paintings that immediately resonated with audiences and collectors, giving him confidence in his creative journey. Today, Shatilov is one of the most popular contemporary artists, whose works consistently attract lively interest from viewers and connoisseurs of modern art.
He frequently exhibits his works, most of which are solo exhibitions. In 2023, his exhibition "Moscow Prayer" at the Antique Center on Sadovaya was a success, attracting more than a thousand visitors in just ten days. Even more people became familiar with his work at the beginning of this year at his solo exhibition "Social Studies" at Erarta, the largest contemporary art museum. His paintings tell the stories of ordinary people in our ever-changing, multifaceted urban universe.
