He also engages in easel painting and graphics. In Anton Strizhenko's art and life, the professionalism of a monumental artist intertwines with the experience of global art that he has absorbed, transformed, and reshaped through his unique journey.
In March 1998, during his first solo exhibition at the international hotel "Cosmos" in the "Carlsberg" hall, Anton stated: "In my childhood, I constructed fantastic cities out of blocks, toys, and chairs that would collapse at the slightest touch, and I painted ships with bright striped sails. After many years of school and academic drawing, I return to freedom and boldness, to the cities of my childhood. An old man in new architecture, the dull glimmer of crumbling plaster next to the screaming aniline of banks and offices, an unappealing model against an urban landscape—that is what compels me to pick up a brush and paints. I do not like to think through and calculate the details of a future painting in advance. The paint, the texture, lead me to the completion of the work, and the initially abstract canvas fills with real images and details. The combination of the real and the abstract is the fabric of my painting."
